  I've had the chicken, veal and steak and was very satisfied with all three sandwiches. The short Filipino girl on cash was always SUPER nice and quick with my order. Very pleasant and easy going. One time I heard her sing which made the atmosphere so homely. Overall great place to eat, definitely coming here more often.

  When I was a kid I hated soggy sandwiches. My mom didn't know how to make a sandwich properly. She came from India. She made Indian food very well! Throwing away food had consequences. I was stubborn - no soggy sandwiches for me. One needs to standup for what they believe in. So I did what any other kid did, I threw them away. Behind the bushes. In the school garbage can. Beside the house. Throwing them beside the house eventually led to me getting caught one summer day when the grass needed to be cut.
  
  California Sandwiches is a story of soggy sandwiches and bad childhood memories.
  
  Customer service was good. Sandwich was not.
  
  Not recommended.

  It's sad because when you go into the Queensway location in Etobicoke the lineup is out the door and they specifically advertise that "every sandwich is made fresh to order"!
  
  When you go to the California Sandwiches at Dundas & Winston Churchill it's far from being run like a well-oiled machine! On a weekday at dinner time I received a sandwich in under a minute of ordering it and the sandwich was soggy and drenched in their marinara sauce! There was "no love" in making this sandwich and sadly they give California Sandwiches a bad name!
  
  To make matters worse, I don't even think there was an Italian family member on site to supervise these college kids who clearly didn't give a damn about the business!

  Delicious sauce.
  Excellent toppings.
  Fresh bread.
  Pleasant servers.
  Terrible meat. Poor quality veal. Tough and rubbery. You have to pull at it while trying to eat it. All the toppings fall out and your hands are covered with the sandwich contents. If the meat was decent this place would rate a 5.

  Bun was stale, very chewy. They always are light on the meat and sauce. If you want a great California sandwich you have to go to warden and Eglinton.
