  It's really hard to find a sushi place that is consistent with the quality of their food as well as service. They were one of our favourite Japanese restaurants on the west end... Unfortunately their service has gotten really poor lately lacking professionalism. The last takeout we had there were at least 5 pieces that had hardened edges on the sashimi. I called them right away to let them know about the unfresh party tray and the waitress on the phone actually told me to call back around 8-9 pm because she is busy. She then asked me what she would like me to do. After coming here for many years with friends and family I can say for certain they have lost many loyal customers. Lastly, they make us wait over 45 minutes for every order.

  It is our favorite family sushi place. The quality of food is superb, fish is super fresh and rolls/sushi are melting in the mouth.
  
  Giving 4 stars not 5 because of service, we take out many times, they messed up with the order, or forgot to put wasabi other time.

  I've been going to Dai Ichi for 8 years now, the sashimi is always very fresh and the service is excellent and always very friendly. This is the only restaurant I go to for my birthday! I definitely recommend Dai Ichi Sushi!

  I have been going to this place with my family for at least 15 years. Their tempura is fantastic and the sushi is pretty good too! I also love their bento box lunch specials.
